Even I learn new things every day. I have often wondered if there was anything you can use in the place of eggs when cooking. There is!

  • EGG SUBSTITUTES: a few suggestions…
    1/4 cup of applesauce equals 1 egg.
    1/2 of a banana equals 1 egg – if using this one add a bit more of the leavening agent you use in the recipe, e.g baking powder.
    1 T Ground Flaxseed to 3 T Water equals 1 egg – mix well before adding to the recipe. This works great as a substitute when making pancakes.

  • GREEN DRINKS! They are back.  You ask, “Did they ever go away?”
    To me they seemed to have gone away, at least for a little while. Why? Because ‘Green Drinks’ were difficult to make without a ‘juicer’. There are some new Juice Guru’s out there who want you to get back to the basics with vegetables. The only thing that bothers me is that they are selling you on vegetables only. What happened to the fruits? Think and research before you decide to go and buy a new juicing machine; end up using it once or twice and then it just sits on the shelf collecting dust.

      Think about it. What is food – is it just a list of ingredients that we do not know the meaning of? FOOD is a code that regulates your body – it sends different messages to the body – it knows right where to go to regulate the organs and glands and health of the body. This can be called Nutritional Healing – where the body through proper nutrient intake through the foods you eat and/or supplements you take – heals itself. You might want to start by making a great salad with a homemade dressing the main meal of the day (veggie or fruit).Image result for free pics of salads

1. Get rid of your food addictions – the STD (Standard American Diet)
2. Disease, or as I like to call it Dis-ease, isn’t always genetic. People often use that as an excuse to be sick. Natural foods already have the ingredients to help prevent disease. Your body is naturally disease proof. Don’t mess it up with wrong food choices.
3. When it comes to meat – especially the red meats, which I am asked about all the time – YOU ARE WHAT YOUR MEAT EATS!
4. Detoxification resets your body!
5. REMEMBER: Nutritional excellence promotes ‘super immunity’. That is how you stay healthy.

CHRISTMAS – a common household word every year at this time. What does it mean? Santa Claus, Christmas trees, bells, angels, tinsel, presents: these things, man inspired, seem to have caused the TRUE MEANING of Christmas to become, obscure and Christmas seems to have become only a Happy Holiday.

I would like to bring the true meaning of Christmas back to the attention of my readers and followers.

Test Kitchen – Christmas Goodies

I will make this blog short and sweet. Why not start Christmas day off with tasty, healthy foods. The following is a great recipe for breakfast.

  Image result for smoothie images free   MORINGA BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE

1 small banana
1/4 cup blueberries for fruit of choice
1 Tbsp. Moringa Powder, or leaves (fresh or dried)
2-3 chunks of fresh pineapple
1/2 cup plain or flavored Yogurt
Honey or Maple Syrup to sweeten
Crushed Ice
Put all the ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth. You can substitute Canned Coconut milk for yogurt – which I do because it is thick and yummy. I use it to make my yogurt. The color of the smoothie will vary according to the ingredients. You can also add veggies (broccoli, kale, spinach, etc.). Make it your own – be creative

Do you like to snack during the day. This recipe makes a delicious snack (like eating candy):

1  1/2 cups Crushed Walnuts
1 cup shredded Coconut packed down
2 Tbsp. Moringa Powder
1/2 cup Peanut butter or Almond Butter
1 Tbsp. agave syrup
2-3 Tbsp. Coconut Flour (it holds the mixture together)
1 tsp. Vanilla extract (optional
1/4 tsp. sea salt (optional)

After you have crushed the walnuts stir them together well with the coconut and Agave syrup – or you can put them in a blender and blend. I like to stir mine. If you find the mixture a little runny add more Coconut flour until the mixture is firm enough to roll into a ball. Roll a heaping teaspoon into a large grape size ball. Roll the ball in loose shredded coconut to coat. Put in a container. Store in the refrigerator. Makes 36 large grape size balls. Stores well for up to 3 months.

And of course, something delicious to drink cannot be forgotten!

CHRISTMAS NOG – Dairy free and non-alcoholic      Image result for eggnog images free

1 quart Coconut milk
1 pkg. Instant Coconut Pudding or Vanilla Pudding
1 tsp. Rum Extract (for flavor) – not Alcohol
1/2 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
1/2 tsp. Allspice
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon

Combine all the ingredients in a blender on high-speed until well mixed for approximately 2 minutes. Put in a quart container with a lid and refrigerate to allow the nog to thicken. Put in cup or glass. Top with whip topping and a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon. Contains fewer calories than the store-bought Egg Nog. A great drink for the whole family – including the kids.

There is a lot of material out there today about Charcoal. What it is and what is it all about. Image result for pics of charcoal products

Activated charcoal has been used for medicinal purposes since around 1550 B.C.

Scientific research shows that when activated charcoal is taken in any form (capsules, powder in drinks, etc.), drugs and toxins bind to it. Therefore, it helps the body to rid itself of unwanted substances.

Activated charcoal has been shown to have anti-aging benefits, whiten teeth (is in the toothpaste). It is in soap. It is used in the water filters for the astronauts in space ships, and is also used in the astronauts space suits. Charcoal is used in filters that purify water. I have a water purification product that uses it in its filter.

Real charcoal comes from wood and not briquets. Other things that activated (real) charcoal is good for include making a paste and putting it on insect bites; Use in dialysis for kidney and liver; Use in hospitals for wound dressings; Use for acid indigestion; May lower cholesterol and promote better kidney function.  Activated Charcoal can be used topically, comes in powder form and in capsule form.

The Mayo Clinic as well as other hospitals use charcoal for treating drug overdose. Another suggested use is for detoxification (as mentioned above, it clears the toxins from the body).

Activated Charcoal can be used topically, comes in powder form and in capsule form.

As with any new or old products that are on the market or making a comeback, there may be risks or side effects. I found more side effects than risks. The side effects range from nausea, vomiting and constipation to bowel obstruction, a chalk like taste in the mouth, and black colored stool (which to me is a given). The stool changes color because of many foods and medications that are taken orally into the body.

If you are going to use Activated Charcoal use it properly. Check with your doctor for dosage if taking it orally. Dosage varies from person to person to include children and adults.

I am experimenting with charcoal, and am presently using it for skin care as an Intensive Face Serum with Hyaluronic Acid. So far, it is good. As time goes on, I will try it in other forms.

Everyone should know the answer to this question. But for you who do not  know, OREGANO is an Herb. You can grow it in your garden. You use it to season food – especially Italian and Greek dishes. BUT – there is more to it than this.

Years ago, I suggested the following method to a client for getting rid of Athletes Foot Fungus. A client called me asking what he could do to get rid of the Athletes Foot issue he had, had for years and years. I suggested he rub Oregano Oil on his feet every day at least once a day and more often as he could, and at night – put it on and wear clean white sox to bed. It was not long before he called to tell me it worked. This was the first relief he has ever had from this disease, even though he had tried every store-bought product he could find.

Since that time, I have learned a lot about Oregano and Oregano Oil. It also can be purchased as a bottled liquid extract, capsules, and tablets. It can be used – not only externally, but also taken internally. This is good news for you who are not aware of this herbs wonderful healing value.

  • Heart health – lowers cholesterol levels
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Reduces pain and inflammation
  • Blood Sugar control
  • Balancing hormones
  • Fighting respiratory and flu infection – the common cold

  • Fighting fungal and yeast infection
  • Parasite infection control
  • Aiding digestive issues

You ask – How do I take it internally?
The sublingual method – under the tongue is one method. Mix 1 drop oregano oil and 1 drop of pure olive oil together. Put the mixture in a sterilized dropper bottle. Drop 1 drop under the tongue. Hold it there for a few minutes and flush down with water. An alternative method: Mix the oregano oil/olive oil mixture with water and gargle for a few minutes, then swallow. OREGANO taken or used by way of any method has great antimicrobial benefits. Use at least 1 time per day – and better still several times a day, for the best benefit.

You can also put the mixture in a steamer and use the inhalation method. If you are suffering from acute infections (fungal, urinary tract, etc.), you may find it easier to take the capsules, or tablets. Recommended is 500 mg 4 times per day. Since all forms may be manufactured differently, it is wise to follow the manufacturer instructions on the bottle.

PRECAUTIONS: Do not take or use if you have an allergic reaction. If you are on prescription meds – consult with your physician first.
