“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me.” This is a phrase I heard frequently during my childhood. As a I, sit here today, I contemplate the many ways this phrase could be interpreted.
The news is full of stories about how Big Tec is taking away our freedom to use Our God given right to use WORDS…FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
What is a word? The dictionary – a book with a long list of words, tells us that a ‘word’ is “something that is said; talk; discourse, a brief remark or conversation; speech; a printed or written character or combination of characters. The list goes on and on.
How did I become interested in WORDS? When I was the office administrator for a privately owned environmental company, the staff would be out in the field for hours. Being an organized person, my duties got done quickly. When I didn’t have anything to do – other than feed the gopher turtles left in my care before they were to be relocated, I would read the Dictionary.
Many of my blog titles are ‘one’ word long. I consider them my ‘word of the day’ blogs – usually inspired in the wee hours of the morning (3-5 a.m.). Today’s word of the day will be CURIOSITY. My curiosity at this time, is in regards to a statement I’ve been hearing lately in the news that ‘the US of America is a corporation – owned by France. My curiosity is What! When? How? – did that happen. Is it a fact or a myth? Here, in short form, is was what I found.
“Not A Corp. Did the “Act of 1871” establish the United States as a corporation? No, that’s not true: The District of Columbia Organic Act of 1871 established a new, unified government for Washington, D.C. It “incorporated” that city, a common legal term by which areas are organized for governance by a single entity.”
“For an entity to become a corporation under federal law, there must be an Act of Congress creating that corporation. There are no Acts of Congress expressly incorporating. either the “United States” or the “United States of America“. In 1871 Congress did expressly incorporate the District. of Columbia, but D.C. and the “United States” are not the same entity …”
WOW, did I open a can of worms. After reading pages and pages of explanations and statements and press releases, etc. I have concluded, in answer to my curiosity, that the United States of America is NOT a corporation owned by any foreign entity – much less France. If you want to know more you need to do your own research. There is a ‘however’, when it comes to this topic. You may hear a lot about it in the news, via podcasts, radio and/or videos. You will have to come to your own conclusion as to what you want to believe.
Lesson learned – YOU CAN NOT DEPEND ON THE NEWS MEDIA from the left or the right to always give you accurate information. When you hear things or see videos always do your own checking – not through ‘fact check’, but through your own research
I presently use sources other than GOOGLE. Since, over the past few months, with BIG TEC in the picture, I feel Google is not a totally reliable source for information searching. They are slowly taking away what you find in real factual books or the good old factual Encyclopedia, and changing the facts to suit their political agenda. I feel it will be a long time before you will be able to get the real facts about anything anymore.
The following video podcast tells an interesting version of what I heard regarding ‘America being a corporation’ etc. It also expresses other theories of what is going on in the news now, about the chaos we have found ourselves taking part in, against our will, pertaining to the fairly tale election that just ended.

Where do we go from here? Your guess is as good as mine.
