Ringing in 2022

Cuppa coffee Clipart and Illustration. 13 cuppa coffee ...

You can’t pour from an empty cup, nor can you drink from an empty cup.

What was in your cup from January 2021 that you are throwing out at the end of December 2021?

I know that when ringing in 2022 – a New Year, I want my cup be empty so I can fill it with the light of Christ as He is the only one that can bring us out of the darkness and into the light.

Note some of the things to be considered when pouring dark memories out of our cups from 2021:

  • disappointment,
  • sadness,
  • sickness,
  • death of friends and loved ones,
  • political chaos,
  • greed,
  • deceitfulness,
  • anger,
  • distress,
  • stress in general,
  • change,
  • complacency,
  • and the disappearance of God in the lives of many. The list can go on and on.

Yet, also to be considered is what was on the positive side; the building of strength – strength of character in mind, body and soul; the power of discernment; a new knowledge of good and evil; and a stronger development of love and belief in God and Jesus Christ in spite of the turmoil and hard times.

10 Commandments List - Life, Hope & Truth

As we ring in 2022 – take that cup you emptied from 2021 and fill it a-new. A good place to start might be to follow…

The Golden Rule -“do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”  This is the ethical principle of treating other people as one’s self would prefer to be treated. One of Jesus’ famous and impactful teachings, the Golden Rule can be found in the Bible verses Matthew 7:12 and Luke 6:31: “ So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets .”

And last – but not least from: Matthew 22:37-40, keep…

Two of Jesus' TeachingsI pray that everyone will take a moment between now and January 1st to do a self evaluation  – decide what you want to fill your cup with. 2022 will not be just a new year, it will be a year of change. If you refill your cup with the past – it will be your demise. We cannot return to the past or even the same way of thinking in the past. The past will have to remain a memory – good and/or bad. We cannot erase history, nor should we, but we can and should have learned from our past, and history.

GOD our creator – a God who embodies love, and who IS love, according to the Bible – GAVE to US FREELY, OUR ‘FREEDOM TO CHOOSE’.  Biblically speaking it has always been a choice between GOOD OR EVIL? The decision is yours. What do you want to fill your cup with in 2022?

"Let God lead you, He will always help you." | Religious ...

Wishing everyone a year filled with wise choices so you will have a HAPPY and hopefully PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR 2022!
